  • How to run a simple keyword search

    Let's run a simple search query and get the list all keywords containing the phrase "online business".
    1. Connect to the internet and launch your favorite web-browser.
    2. Open web page of the online keyword databases http://db.pastukhov.org
    3. In the appeared window enter your login and password that you've received after the purchase.

    4. In the left sidebar choose the Databases tab -> English 1000+ (2015)

    5. Enter keywords for search into the Keyword Search form. You can use several keyword matching options:

    a) online business - in this case all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines “online” and “business” with different word order will be found.

    b) "online business" - in this case all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines “online” and “business” with direct word order will be found (phrase match).

    c) [online] [business] - in this case only search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines "online business” with direct word order will be found (exact match).

    Let use the third variant, when all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines [online] [business] will be found.

    6. You will get the list of keywords in no more than 1 second.

    You can rename the keyword list by clicking the arrow button near the header of this keyword list.


    How to run a multiple keyword search

    Let's run a search query and get the list all keywords containing phrases "software development", "web development" and "web design". We will get the list of keywords related to these three phrases.
    1. Connect to the internet and launch your favorite web-browser.
    2. Open web page of the online keyword databases http://db.pastukhov.org
    3. In the appeared window enter your login and password that you've received after the purchase.

    4. In the left sidebar choose the Databases tab -> English 1000+ (2015)

    5. Enter keywords for search into the Keyword Search form by one keyword or phrase per line. You can use several keyword matching options:

    a) software development - in this case all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines “software” and “development” with different word order will be found.

    b) "software development" - in this case all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines “software” and “development” with direct word order will be found (phrase match).

    c) [software] [development] - in this case only search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines " software development” with direct word order will be found (exact match).

    Let use the first variant:

    6. You will get one keyword list that contains all search queries in which there is a simultaneous occurrence of lines “software” and “development", or simultaneous occurrence of lines “web” and “development”, or “web" and “design” will be found.

    If you need to get separate keyword list for each phrase from the filter form, remove the check mark from "Merge into a single document" option.

    You can rename the keyword list by clicking the arrow button near the header of this keyword list.


    How to get popularity data for keywords

    Let's get Google searches per month data for the keywords that we have now in the keyword list.
    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button the "Columns" button and choose "Add" in the appeared menu.

    4. The window with a list of all keyword databases and all columns will open.
    5. Choose: English 1000+ mln. keyword database -> Google Searches per month for US. Press the "Add" button.

    You can get the popularity data for the keyword list from any available database: English 1000+, 840, 245, 115, 77, 60 or 44 mln. Keyword Database.

    6. The new column with "Google Searches per month" data will be added automatically to the main table.
    7. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the Google Searches US column and choose “Sort descending”/"Sort ascending" in the appeared menu.

    You will get the list of keywords sorted by the Google searches per month.


    How to get the CPC for keywords

    Let's get Google Adwords CPC data for the keywords that we have now in the list.
    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button the "Columns" button and choose "Add" in the appeared menu.

    4. The window with a list of all keyword databases and all columns will open.
    5. Choose: English 1000+ mln. keyword database -> Google Adwords Bid for US. Press the "Add" button.

    You can get the CPC (cost per click) data for the keyword list from any available English keyword database.

    6. The new column with "Google Adwords Bids" data will be added automatically to the main table.
    7. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the AdWords Bid US column and choose “Sort descending”/"Sort ascending" in the appeared menu.

    You will get the list of keywords sorted by the Google Adwords CPC values.


    How to get the list of the most popular keywords

    Let's find all keywords that have more than 500.000 Google search queries per month.
    1. Connect to the internet and launch your favorite web-browser.
    2. Open web page of the online keyword databases http://db.pastukhov.org
    3. In the appeared window enter your login and password that you've received after the purchase.

    4. In the left sidebar choose the Databases tab -> English 1000+ (2015)

    5. In the Column Search form choose "Google Searches US" and type the value "1000" for example.

    6. You will get the list of keywords that have more than 1000 searches per month.


    How to get the list of the most expensive keywords

    Let's find all keywords with the CPC value higher than $5.
    1. Connect to the internet and launch your favorite web-browser.
    2. Open web page of the online keyword databases http://db.pastukhov.com
    3. In the appeared window enter your login and password that you've received after the purchase.

    4. In the left sidebar choose the Databases tab -> English 1000+ (2015)

    5. In the Column Search form choose "AdWords Bid US" and type the value "5" (the same as $5) for example.

    6. You will get the list of keywords that have more than $5 AdWords CPC.

    In the export file the CPC value from any English keyword database will be displayed in cents, i.e. 500 instead of $5.


    Working with keyword lists


    How to use minus-words

    Let's filter the keyword list we have now using minus-words. There are two ways to complete this task.

    #1. Fast

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button in the quick filter form and type minus-words in a line with a minus symbol in front of each word.

    You can use several keyword matching options:

    a) -book - in this case all search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of any words like “book”, “books” “notebook” etc. will be removed.

    b) -[book] -[startup] - in this case only search queries in which there is simultaneous occurrence of lines "book" and "startup” with direct word order will be removed (exact match).

    Your keyword list will be filtered while you are typing the word in the quick filter form.

    4. You can press the filter button to create separate keyword list filtered by the minus-words you've entered.

    #2. Slow

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the Keywords column and choose “Filter" in the appeared menu.

    4. In the appeared window choose "Doesn't contain any of the following words" and enter minus-words by one word per line. Then press the "Filter" button.

    Don't use special symbols like [] , "" or - for the minus-words in the filter form.


    How to filter keywords by the number of words

    Let's filter the keyword list by the number of words.
    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button the "Columns" button and choose "Add" in the appeared menu.

    4. The window with a list of all keyword databases and all columns will open.
    5. Choose: Basic columns -> Number of Words in the Search Phrase. Press the "Add" button.

    6. The new column with the number of words per each keyword phrase will be added to the main table.
    7. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the "Number of Words" column and choose “Filter" in the appeared menu.

    8. In the appeared window select the filter “Leave from” and type the value “2″ for example.

    9. The keyword list will be filtered by this column / value.


    How to filter keywords by the keyword length

    Let's filter the keyword list by the length of words with spaces.
    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button the "Columns" button and choose "Add" in the appeared menu.

    4. The window with a list of all keyword databases and all columns will open.
    5. Choose: Basic columns -> Number of Symbols in the Search Phrase. Press the "Add" button.

    6. The new column with the number of symbols per each keyword phrase will be added to the main table.
    7. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the "Length" column and choose “Filter" in the appeared menu.

    8. In the appeared window select the filter “Leave from” and type the value “15″ for example.

    9. The keyword list will be filtered by this column / value.


    How to filter keyword list by any words

    Let's filter the keyword list by any word or phrase.

    #1. Fast

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button in the quick filter form and type any word or phrase in a line.

    Don't use special symbols like [] , "" or - for the words in the quick filter form.

    Your keyword list will be filtered while you are typing the word in the quick filter form.

    4. You can press the filter button to create separate keyword list filtered by the word or phrase you've entered.

    #2. Slow

    Use this method if you want to completely filter the keyword list.

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Click with a left mouse button on the header of the Keywords column and choose “Filter" in the appeared menu.

    4. In the appeared window select the appropriate filter “Leave from” and type any words or phrases you need in the filter form.

    Don't use special symbols like [] , "" or - for the words in the filter form.

    5. Press the "Filter" button to complete the task.


    How to export the list of keywords to CSV or TXT

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Place a check mark in front of any keyword in the list.
    4. Press the "Selected" button and choose "Select All" in the appeared menu.

    5. Press the "Selected" button again and choose "Export" in the appeared menu.

    6. In the appeared menu type the file name and put the check marck if you need to export keywords with Google data.

    You will get the TXT file for the keyword list without any data columns and the CSV file with at least one data column.

    7. On the next page just scroll down and press the "Download" button.

    How to select all keywords in the list

    1. In the left sidebar choose the Documents tab -> Database Queries -> English 1000+ mln. keyword database.
    2. Choose your keyword list in the table.

    3. Place a check mark in front of any keyword in the list.
    4. Press the "Selected" button and choose "Select All" in the appeared menu.
