# Authors

Authors are the people who write in your sources. The same person leaving messages in different channels is gathered into one card: everything they wrote, where and how many times is visible at a glance. This helps you quickly see who actually shapes your topic.

## What an author is

An author is a person who writes in your sources. One author = one card: if the same Telegram user writes in two channels, their posts from both are gathered under one card — the linking uses the Telegram user id, or the exact name where the id is absent. Different names never merge.

## Where authors come from

Automatically — from the collected messages. Every new message creates or finds its card and updates the counters. At server startup a maintenance backfill links messages left without an author — duplicating and deleting nothing: author cards live on even when their messages are deleted.

## The authors list

50 per page, search by name (live, as you type) and sorting — by name, last message, source count or message count. Each row shows the name, tags, the time of the last post, and the source and message counters. As new messages arrive the list updates in place, and previously unseen authors appear without a reload.

## The author page

- the header — a placeholder avatar (the first letter of the name), the name, the Telegram user id when known, and the message and source totals;
- the Messages tab — their posts, 20 at a time with a “more” button; new ones arrive in real time;
- the Channels tab — where they wrote and how much, ordered by last activity; each row leads into that source’s feed.

## Author tags

An author can carry tags from the shared pool — they immediately spread to all of the author’s already collected messages, and their new messages receive these tags automatically on arrival. Removing a tag from the author removes it from the messages too. This way, giving an author the “expert” tag automatically labels everything they write.
