Keyboard shortcuts let you work in Xedant Agent faster, without taking your hands off the keyboard. Here is a reference of the main quick actions — use them to speed up your everyday work.
General
- Stop button in the header — stop the AI from processing the current request.
Typing messages
- Enter — send the message. Shift+Enter — add a line break without sending. If you are used to a different way, open Settings (the Chat section) and turn on “Double Enter to Send”: the first Enter then adds a new line, and the second one sends.
- Shift+Enter — add a line break without sending the message.
- / — pick a skill right in the message: type / followed by the skill name as the first line of your first message, and the chat starts with that skill.
- Ctrl+Enter (or Cmd+Enter) — send the message. Handy in inputs where a plain Enter only adds a new line.
- Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click) the New Chat button in the header — create a new chat that keeps the current chat’s skill and model, and open it in a new tab.
Chat list
- Enter or Space — open the selected chat.
- Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click) — open the chat in a new tab.
File tree
- Up / Down arrows — move between files and folders.
- Left arrow — go to the parent folder.
- Right arrow — enter a folder.
- Enter — open the selected file, or expand/collapse a folder.
- Delete — delete the selected file or folder (with a confirmation).
- + (plus) — expand the selected folder.
- − (minus) — collapse the selected folder.
- F2 — rename the selected file or folder.
- Ctrl+S — save the current file by hand (autosave is on too).

Git panel
- Enter — quick commit (when the cursor is in the commit message field).

- Up / Down arrows — move through the skills list.
- Enter — choose the selected skill.

Message queue
If you send the next message while the agent is still answering, it is not lost: it waits in a queue and goes out automatically as soon as the current reply finishes. You can edit, pause, or remove queued messages with the buttons next to the queue.
